Mechanical  Transitions  Manager,  Aero,Based  in  Chengdu

De\scription  of  Responsibilities:
Transition  Manager  reporting  to  Global  Strategy  &  Integration  organization.  This  position  will  lead  the  interface  between  the  receiving  Emerging  Region  Supplier  and  the  US  based  transition  management  team.

Participates  as  a  member  of  a  cross-functional  team  in  developing  &  executing  a  robust  transition  plan  which  is  aligned  to  ***''s  Global  Sourcing  Commodity  Strategies.

Actively  participates  in  identifying  supplier  capability  during  Standard  Transition  Process  (STP)  Phase  Gates  1  &  2  -  (Feasibility  &  Strategy).  Leads  formal  business  &  technical  assessments  of  potential  suppliers.    Co-leads  team  during  STP  Phase  Gate  3,  (Detailed  Planning)  and  is  expected  to  lead  team  during  STP  Phase  Gate  4  (Execution).  Transition  Manager  is  expected  to  develop  strong  supplier  business  &  technical  relationships.  They  are  also  expected  to  provide  detailed  input  for  schedule  and  cost  planning  and  reporting.    

Transition  Manager  is  expected  to  adhere  to  the  Standard  Transition  Process  (STP)  work  breakdown  structure,  project  plan  development  methodology,  and  recurring/non-recurring  task  lists.  .  Must  be  capable  of  presenting  "Phase  Gate"  reviews  to  the  stakeholders  to  obtain  "Go",  "No  Go"  decisions  at  the  critical  decision  points    Conducts  formal  project  risk  assessments  and  develops  risk  mitigation  plans.  

The  Transition  Manager  will  interface  with  ***  cross-functional  team  members  and  the  supplier  to  ensure  schedule  and  cost  targets  are  met  in  the  execution  of  a  transition  from  supplier  to  supplier  or  from  a  ***  facility  to  a  supplier.  

Working  under  general  supervision,  performs  a  wide  range  of  assignments  using  mature  judgments  and  expertise  to  develop  solutions  to  specified  problems.

Provides  professional  guidance  to  ***  sites  and  supplier  personnel  to  achieve  supply  chain  goals.  Interacts  with  all  levels  of  the  organization  and  the  supply  base.

Qualifications:
Basic  Qualifications
Bachelor\''\''s  Degree  in  Business,  Engineering  or  related  discipline
Minimum  5-7  years  experience  in  directly  related  field
Additional  Qualifications
Masters  Degree/MBA  preferred,  Strong  program  management  skills.
Capable  of  facilitating  cross-functional  teams  to  reach  consensus.
Ability  to  handle  multiple  projects/customers/priorities  with  minimum  supervision  under  challenging  conditions.
Strong  English  Language  oral,  written  &  presentation  skills
Able  to  anticipate  the  needs  of  internal/external  customers  and  resolve  any  issues  impacting  transition  speed  and/or  customer  satisfaction.
Effective  facilitator,  coach,  and  trainer.
Ability  to  multi-task  and  assess  priorities  in  a  complex  and  demanding  environment.
Ability  to  deal  with  ambiguity.
